Vienna, the home of Mozart, the waltz, and apple strudel and our group managed to partake in all three!
Austria has an extensive, and sometimes complicated history from the Holy Roman Empire to World War II. But the tour guides mentioned quite a few names and terms the students are familiar with from their AP World History class (and I was sure to remind them of that)! We visited many Austrio-Hungarian buildings from the Hapsburg Dynasty. Some of these sites (like the one below) were used by Hitler to deliver speeches to the crowds. History is alive and well in Austria!
